Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the SyncTiles website (www.synctiles.com) and the application at learn.synctiles.com (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Ownership and Intellectual Property

The SyncTiles service, including its design, architecture, user interface, nested tile system, encryption implementation, and all related features, is the exclusive property of dontbothercaffeinated, the owner of www.synctiles.com. All rights are reserved under applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, revocable license to use the Service for personal or internal purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, extract the source code, or create derivative works based on the Service or its underlying concepts.

2. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you create. All notes, tiles, comments, todos, links, logs, and other user-generated content are encrypted client-side in your browser before they are transmitted or stored on our servers.

We do not provide any feature to export or deliver your content in readable form. Due to our client-side encryption architecture, we cannot access or provide decrypted copies of your private data. You may use your recovery phrase locally in your browser to decrypt and manage your own data.

3. Accounts and Billing

The Service uses a subscription model managed through Stripe. You are responsible for keeping your recovery phrase secure. Subscriptions may be canceled at any time through your account settings.

4. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to violate laws, infringe rights, attempt to circumvent security or encryption measures, or build competing products using our architecture or concepts.

5. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “AS IS” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the claim (or $100 if no payment was made).

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or non-payment. You may stop using the Service at any time.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
